Betsy Densmore – Social Enterprise Institute 2

Betsy is VP of the Social Enterprise Institute, which focuses on supporting nonproft social entrepreneurs in building mission-based businesses. Her past, varied experience lends itself to SEI’s activities. She came to California in 2000 to serve as a program manager for a global personal development and leadership training organization. Prior to that, she was the Executive Director of a major legal foundation for ten years. In the 80’s, she supervised a large fee for service social enterprise that reduced energy costs for building owners in low-income Chicago neighborhoods, and served as a manager in the public affairs department of a Fortune 500 retailer. Along the way, she has also helped to found 5 small businesses.
