Jim Nicol – Forest Systems Services

Jim is responsible for project investment analysis, performance and risk management and relations with the investment community. He is a professional forester – a founding partner of Forest Systems – and, has more than 25 years of experience managing forest assets for investment purposes. Most recently, Jim directed our predecessor firm’s investment strategy and portfolio management functions – overseeing three large investment programs worth more than $800 million for clients. He also was responsible for client relations, acquisition strategy and due diligence. Under his direction, the firm also acquired and sold more than 2.5 million acres of U.S. forestland with a value exceeding $2.5 billion. Prior to these efforts, Jim was a member of the Hancock Timber Resource Group’s executive management team. In that capacity, he served as director of portfolio management and led the development and oversight of the California Public Employees’ Retirement System’s $1.2 billion forest investment portfolio.
