1. Where do you see your organization fitting into the capital market spectrum?
We provide seed and early stage funding to for profit social enterprises. We are social venture capitalist. Our investments, social enterprise investments, are in a brand new space. We are probably one of the only firms investing internationally in social enterprises. The organizations we invest in manage a double bottom line. They have a social and financial mission. We look for sustainability and replicability in an enterprise. If the business is sustainable then it will allow for more social good.
2. What do you hope to get out of SOCAP09?
I want to collaborate and network with like-minded people. By collaborating, I hope we can bring more definition and discipline to the social enterprise industry.
