On Thursday, July 21st, The HUB San Francisco, Impact Economy Initiative of The Aspen Institute and Omidyar Network will be hosting the event: ‘Pursuing Profit and Purpose: The Debate in California’s Statehouse and What it Means for Us.’
The discussion will focus on two new legal forms introduced to California’s State Assembly and Senate, the Benefit Corporation and the Flexible Purpose Corporation. If passed, these two bills could significantly enhance California’s ability to innovate in the social enterprise sector. The panel, comprised of leading social entrepreneurs and attorneys, will share insights on the legislation, as well as, explore the implications for impact investors, social entrepreneurs and philanthropists. The night start with a reception at 6:30pm followed by the panel discussion at 7pm.
