Impact Investing Forum at Columbia University

In September and October the Columbia Impact Investing Initiative hosts the Impact Investing Forum at Columbia University. Forum aims exploring the current efforts in building a social investment marketplace and its infrastructure. Through a dialogue between practitioners, academics, and students, the Impact Investing Forum (IIF) seeks to specify and conceptualize ideas round the current challenges and prospects for this growing industry. Through this, the IIF also contributes to educating the next generation of impact investing practitioners.
The forum takes place at Columbia University on Sep 27 (5.30pm), Oct 4 (6.30pm) and Oct 11 (6.30pm). On Sep 27 Andrew Kassoy from B-lab will explore what impact measurement has achieved and what the current frontier in impact measurement is. On Oct 4 David Wood from Harvard’s Center of Responsible Investing will explain how and what policies could support impact investing. Both session will involve interactive aspects to engage the audience. On Oct 11 the Penelope Douglas (SOCAP), Antony Bugg-Levine (Nonprofit Finance Fund), Mike Ingram (Innovations for Poverty), and Tim Ogden (Active Philanthrophy) will close the Forum my addressing the question how impact investing can foster social and economic development.
Additionally, the first event on Sep 20 saw Alvaro Rodriguez (IGNIA), Pamela Hartigan (Skoll Center for Social Entreprenership), and Jed Emerson (Impact Assets) opening the forum by taking a look at what impact investing is in general and how it works on a day-to-day basis.
