A Case Study: Joining Forces to Ensure Diverse Books

Julie Fortenbery July 12, 2022

We will walk through our approach and journey — and demonstrate the power of radical collaboration.  We convened a group of over 30 different organizations across the United States working in organizations focused on providing access to books and literacy resources to low-income children and families with the goal of expanding the access to diverse books by:

  • Aggregating the group’s collective purchasing power to impact supply, affordability, and access to diverse reading materials;
  • Educating, empowering, and magnifying the voice of teachers, clinicians, and families, and give them the voice and the words to advocate;
  • Unifying our collective narrative and storytelling around the need for representation and diverse content.
