Lean management is a set of tools and practices codified by the Toyota Corporation, leading to a revolution in manufacturing processes around the world. Other industries have followed suit, most notably healthcare. While most known for production processes, the same toolkit can lead to greater impact in communities and increased environmental sustainability when adopted by the social sector. We will give a brief overview of what lean is and present case studies of how agencies have adopted the practices to deliver more value to clients and create greater impact in communities.
