This panel will put a spotlight on the innovative ways the housing market is linking with other social systems to address the current crisis. Too many people believe the housing crisis is unsolvable and requires massive capital investments to make an impact. We will take the audience through the inspiring work of three innovative and ground-breaking housing initiatives that serve formerly incarcerated people (The Homecoming Project), homeless college students (Los Angeles Room and Board) and low-wealth aspiring homeowners (Frolic Communities). Each project has the potential to fundamentally improve the housing market and make it more accessible, affordable and fair.
Note: the Fireside Chat speakers will be Aishatu Yusuf (The Homecoming Project), Sam Prater (LA Room and Board), and Tamara Knox (Frolic). Michelle Boyd (Terner Housing Innovation Labs) will be the moderator.
