Approaching the Tipping Point: Building the Marketplace for System-level Investing

The social and environmental challenges of the 21st century are new, different, and fundamentally destabilizing; they are complex, interconnected global issues with multiple contributing factors, and they impact entire economies and societies, threatening the global financial system and long-term investment returns across all asset classes – they are systemic. For numerous reasons outlined in TIIP’s recent report, Approaching the Tipping Point: Recommendations for building the marketplace for system-level investing, now is the time to encourage industry-wide embrace of system-level investing. This session will open with a brief overview of Approaching the Tipping Point followed by five concurrent facilitated breakout sessions – each focused on discussing and critiquing one of the report’s five recommendations and brainstorming practical ideas for bringing them to fruition. It will conclude with a “report out” on each of the five concurrent sessions.
