Community Cultural Wealth that Powers BIPOC Social Entrepreneurship

Three BIPOC social entrepreneurs come together to share how to engage in radical collaboration that honors the Black experience and centers the Black community to create their own futures. Esi Kagale Agyeman Gillo, Co-Founder of DIFFvelopment, will share how her organization leverages culturally-specific and historically-centered entrepreneurial and financial education to empower aspiring Black visionaries to build generational and philanthropic legacies. Dr. Brian C. B. Barnes, Co-Founder and CEO of TandemEd, will speak to how TandemEd provides consulting to institutions who are serving in Black communities to be responsive to the leadership, narratives, and messaging of those communities through community-led and media-based strategies. AiLun Ku, President and CEO of The Opportunity Network, will discuss how a national education nonprofit collaborated with both social entrepreneurs to reimagine how the Black students it serves can see themselves fully represented and affirmed in the past, present, and future of their learning and their work. All three social entrepreneurs will share examples where community cultural wealth fuels all that they do.
