Foreign investment in Latin America and the Caribbean has been an important driver of economic growth, job creation and poverty reduction. However, despite the investments, the region is exposed to a slowdown in growth. According to the projections of an ECLAC report, Latin America and the Caribbean will decelerate its growth rate in 2022 to 2.1% ; as an effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, the lack of implementation of fiscal, social and monetary policies, the effects of the war in Ukraine and the restrictive orientation of the monetary policy in the USA.
Therefore, the Red de Impacto LATAM, which was born in 2020, as a response to socioeconomic and environmental regeneration, brings to the table the experiences of more than 150 organizations from 25 countries, emphasizing the achievements and current challenges of the region, and how impact investing creates a safer and more equitable place.
