Description
The global financial system has a pivotal role to play in addressing the climate crisis—but meaningful change requires more than individual action. It demands strategic collaboration between businesses, financial institutions, and mission-driven organizations to shift financial flows away from harmful industries and toward sustainable solutions.
This panel will explore how values-aligned partnerships are accelerating the transition to a climate-resilient economy, with a focus on finance and risk management. Brad Stevenson, CEO of Premiums for the Planet, will discuss the often-overlooked role of insurance as a powerful tool in climate finance and how companies can use risk management decisions to drive systemic change. Dan Chu, Executive Director of the Sierra Club Foundation, will discuss Shifting Trillions, a global initiative to redirect the vast sums currently financing fossil fuels into sustainable solutions. He will emphasize the critical role of insurance, banking, and investment in accelerating the transition to a clean economy, and highlight pathways for financial leaders to take meaningful action. Kylie Nealis, Senior Program Manager for Climate Justice at B Lab U.S. & Canada, will share insights from B Lab’s partnership with Premiums for the Planet, which taught 45 B Corps—representing $6.5 billion in revenue— how to integrate climate finance into their corporate strategies. She will also highlight how the B Corp community’s collective action model is mobilizing businesses to reshape the financial landscape for massive impact at scale.
Through real-world case studies, cross-sector insights, and an interactive discussion, this session will demonstrate how mission-driven financial partnerships are unlocking capital for climate solutions while reinforcing long-term business resilience.
