Five & Rising in Action: Place-Based Innovation, Narrative Power & Scaling Community-Lead Solutions

Five & Rising is a national movement to rethink how the social (nonprofit) sector is funded, valued and supported by centering community, strengthening local systems and shifting the narratives that have undermined the full value of the sector. As the official social impact initiative inspired by the film, UnCharitable, Five & Rising is a bold initiative to change perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors about the social sector. We will explore how place-based innovation, narrative power, and community collaboration can lead to greater impact and highlight how local leaders are testing new approaches with cross sector partners to strengthen ecosystems, build capacity and scale what works while staying accountable to the communities they serve.
