Growing a Sustainable Food System: A Global Perspective

Ben Wrobel May 27, 2021

By 2050 Earth will have two billion additional people. How will we feed a growing global population – without depleting the planet’s resources?

Ten years ago, conversations about sustainable food systems and circular agriculture focused on the biggest institutions – bi-laterals, governments, and big corporations. But it’s becoming clear that the most effective solutions are coming from closer to the ground – locally-led, culturally contextual startups and SGBs that are working on innovations to increase agricultural production, tighten supply chains, and reduce food waste.

Village Capital is running accelerator programs for sustainable food system innovation on several continents. This panel will include innovators and investors from Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Middle East/North Africa, to bring a global perspective to food and agriculture innovation.
