Holding Company: A better structure than an investment fund, How, What, and Why

Luni Libes May 12, 2021

For the past half century the norm for startup and growth capital is the limited partnership investment fund.  This structure works for some styles of investing but doesn’t work for the vast majority of companies, especially impact companies, and thus is not the best choice for investors.  In this panel we’ll explain how holding companies work and we’ll talk two two new real world examples, CoPeace and Africa Eats, and explain the long term strategy and benefits that a permanent capital holding company adds both to investors and entrepreneurs.

Speakers:

Luni Libes is a 25+ year serial entrepreneur, (co)founder of six companies. His latest is Africa Eats, a pan-Africa investment holding company focused on mitigating hunger and poverty in Africa.

Craig Jonas is a lifelong entrepreneur with success across business, academic, and athletic industries. He has over 30 years of experience in management with a passion for team-building and drawing individuals with big ideas together.
