DAOs and related Web3 ideas are the new hotness. But does more technology automatically yield greater community and impact? This session will look at how DAOs relate to the new wave of platform co-ops that bring members together around a shared purpose and a shared asset to transform the way entire sectors of our economy work. Without both a power analysis and strong mechanism for deep and authentic member engagement, community ownership initiatives risk papering over rather than challenging the current lopsided distribution of resources and influence in our economy. This chat explores the risks and opportunities of relying on tech to scale community and ownership.
How do platform co-ops vs DAOs deliver on the promise of scaled community, impact, and ownership?
