Regeneration as a business response to the climate crisis at scale

Shaun Paul April 27, 2021

Regeneration as a response to the climate crisis has hit the mainstream as diverse global corporations increasingly adopt the term, albeit with a growing array of meanings with a shared proposition to make all life better in the way we do business.

A group of veteran purpose-driven companies have been pioneering how they bring regeneration to life in their respective companies, among their stakeholders with particular resonance in food and agricultural supply chains.  Together, they have formed a ‘collaboratory’ to improve company performance with regenerative principles by applying the Regenerative Dashboard to their respective companies. This group seeks to collaborate, foster and improve the implementation of regenerative practices in our businesses through the use of indicators to better measure and communicate impact with our stakeholders.

The Regenerative Dashboard builds from more than 60 years of applying living systems thinking to grow thriving companies globally in diverse industries. It attracts and guides entrepreneurs and investors to adopt “living systems” and regenerative thinking to produce phenomenal disruptive and holistic positive change. Moreover, organizations that adopt the integration of living systems into their business and project management processes consistently increase profitability, reduce costs, and accelerate innovation – thereby, doing good by doing well. In contrast to existing approaches to Environmental & Social Governance and Monitoring & Evaluation that are fragmented, reporting with the Regenerative Dashboard captures the synergies that result from systems working together and provides a basis to build thriving organizations that fully optimize their desired impact.

The Regenerative Dashboard is a response to expressed demand by impact investors, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and conservation managers informed by eight years of research with guidance from diverse experts globally to answer: how can we best invest in sustainable well-being that is inclusive of traditionally marginalized groups?  The Regenerative Dashboard is for entrepreneurs and impact investors that seek to dramatically improve how they drive and measure positive impact using a holistic approach that uniquely combines savvy business acumen, leading impact investment standards, Indigenous cultural wisdom, regenerative principles, and conventional evaluation methodologies.
