Solopreneurs Need Safety Nets: Designing Infrastructure for the Future of Work

Solopreneurship is rapidly expanding as a pathway to economic freedom, flexibility, and resilience. Yet the infrastructure hasn’t caught up. Independent workers often operate without healthcare access, income stability, or safety nets—making this path inaccessible to many who could benefit most. Drawing on five years of organizing a global solopreneur community, this session explores how capital, policy, and ecosystem design can reduce risk and expand participation. Participants will co-create actionable models—from portable benefits to new funding mechanisms—that enable solopreneurs to thrive while strengthening the broader impact economy.
