The climate crisis has changed our lives forever. Since the first events were noticed, authorities and organizations around the world began to seek ways to mitigate or reverse the socio-environmental consequences of global warming. But there is still a long way to go and it is up to the younger generations to think about strategies and solutions to transform the world towards a future with more balance, safety, health and responsibility in the use of natural resources.
According to the UN , girls and women are the biggest victims of events and the climate crisis. They are also a minority in the science and decision-making that affect the future of humanity. This can – and will – change! We want more girls who are aware, empowered and protagonists of transformations!
Our objective is to provoke thoughts and attitudes aimed at social awakening and the construction of a new world without disregarding the social contexts in which we live, the economic and racial aspects of our society. And, of course, the gender issue.
Because women possess unique knowledge and experience, particularly at the local level, their inclusion in decision-making processes is critical to effective climate action.
A partnership between Força Meninas, a social impact initiative from Brazil for girls and ERM a worldwide sustentability consultancy, launched the first course for girls who want to become agents of change to reverse the climate crisis, in Latin America and in 5 languages.
Força Meninas is a pioneering educational platform for girls aged 6 to 18 to unlock their potential. Founded by journalist and researcher Deborah De Mari, Força Meninas works in a multidisciplinary way in programs that develop 21st century skills and empower girls to create change in the world, being protagonists of the opportunities of the FUTURE. Our actions and programs comply with the Sustainable Development Goals established by the UN.
