The connection between social justice and climate justice is deeper than previously imagined. As we transition to a low-carbon economy, how do we ensure that we center justice as we build the economy of the future? As our leaders contemplate the path forward and how to upgrade infrastructure in the U.S. and globally, we are paving the way for the ‘just transition’ – one that ameliorates long-standing inequities in large metropolitan areas, as well as rural regions. Bringing sustainable infrastructure to these communities brings economic opportunity through job creation and mitigating climate risk.
