The Power & Potential Women Have to Democratize Impact Investing and Change the World

Janine Firpo May 13, 2021

All our money is having an impact in the world – for better or for ill. 84% of women and 95% of millennials want to invest in a way that aligns with their values. The financial products are there – across all asset classes – for them to do this, but the information and tools they need are not readily available. It is hard for most people to invest this way, and it shouldn’t be. We need to make it easier for anyone to invest for positive impact -even if they do not have a values-aligned financial advsior. It is time to truly democratize impact investing, moving the opportunity to do good while doing well to all investors – large and small. A new movement is underway and women are leading the charge.

This session will focus on the tools and resources that anyone – even non-accredited investors – can use to align their money with their values. It will offer real-world, concrete examples – across asset classes – that show how women are using innovative approaches to shift their assets in support of a better world. And it will demonstrate the power of what is possible when women come together in community to empower and support each other on this journey.

NOTE: I have a number of women that can be part of this panel. I selected, I will choose 3 – 4 panelists that create a mix of experiences in terms of age, race, and socio-economic backgrounds

Themes

Democratizing impact investing, inviting more investors to the table, tools & resources that can be applied today

Purpose and Desired Outcome

Inspire attendees to transform their personal relationships with their money. Many women who work in the philanthropy and impact investing spaces do not apply these principles to their own money. We hope to change that mindset through the example of "average" women who are making this change.
