This workshop of systems thinkers and doers provides concrete examples that it is possible and gives participants tools and methodologies to implement similar models. Commercial Real Estate is the largest industry in the world. It is estimated to be around $200- $280 trillion in 2022. What if this industry becomes an impact investment industry? This panel showcases how CRE impact investments from different parts of the world are doing just that and opening the path for others to follow. Join us to explore the endless possibilities of how whole communities are taking agency, lifting themselves out of poverty, and creating generational wealth, while offering market-rate returns for investors.

Purpose and Desired Outcome
We intend to showcase that Commercial Real Estate (CRE) can and should become an impact investment asset class. The presented ongoing projects prove this to be a reality internationally. We hope to inspire the SOCAP community to join the change-making process by being exposed to this new way of investing in CRE, where profit and impact go hand-in-hand. This new status quo allows wealth to keep growing while at the same time empowering communities to lift themselves out of poverty through access to quality housing, financial inclusion, and wealth creation. The ultimate goal of “traditional” investors is to make money work for itself and grow. The presented models prove that this cycle does not exclude impact and its path to “work for itself and grow.” The more significant the investment, the bigger the profit, and the more powerful the impact.
