Using Web3 Technology to Scale Impact Faster Than Ever: How Carbon + Crypto is Tackling the UN SDG’s

Web3 (also known as distributed ledger technology – DLT) is considered to be the next iteration of the internet. In addition to its potential for greater inclusion, its modular and interoperable tech stack make mass collaboration and previously impossible solutions possible. The result is the potential for exponential return on impact. The Carbon + Crypto ecosystem is a rapidly scaling case study. This session will illustrate how the Carbon + Crypto ecosystem is using web3 to solve long standing challenges facing decarbonization efforts including: expanding the supply of regenerative carbon projects globally by attracting and scaling completely new sources of funding via technology, making global carbon reduction efforts transparent and accountable, building decarbonization and social impact into everyday user activities across web3, aligning on-chain efforts with the UN SDG’s and off-chain carbon sector, and more. We will also demonstrate how the complex ecosystem of web3 communities and this next evolution of the web technology come together to unlock all of this potential.
