Who's in your wedding party? Busting Cross-Racial Barriers by Investing in Black Women

Jenny Tolan July 13, 2022

Our networks are segregated, and our segregation drives the racial wealth gap. On average in the US, 83% of Black people’s friends are Black and 91% of white people’s friends are white. Our networks are core to finding jobs, finding doctors, accessing personal and professional resources, and building empathy and understanding, but there’s a chasm across racial lines and not enough opportunities to work together.

In this fireside chat, we’ll talk about what it takes to break this cycle and build deep, authentic cross-racial relationships, through the common goal of investing in Black Women.

What impact on the racial wealth gap and society do we see when investing together in Black women? Participants will learn about the connections between personal networks and flow of capital and explore real stories of how to bust open these barriers.
