Description

Peer support and lived experience are big buzz phrases, yet often people don’t understand what they are, and the transformative power they have on individuals, systems, and communities, especially when applied to the social impact workforce. Youth MOVE (Motivating Others through Voices of Experience) National (YMN) is the only national, youth-led, chapter-based organization dedicated to advancing youth peer support. This session will define peer support and lived experience and highlight YMN unique five-step approach to the process:

1. Immediate Harm Reduction
2. Short-term Stability
3. Empowerment through Storytelling
4. A Thriving Community
5. Long-term Stability and Systemic Change
