Impact investing in education has been picking up momentum, even prior to the pandemic. Investments have focused on operating within the current systems of education delivery, with innovation occurring in content delivery, better support systems for teachers and students, and more personalized learning. However, with the tumultuous changes to K12 stimulated by COVID-19, there is an opportunity to rethink systems change, to create more equitable and affordable access to education, and improve quality and relevance for learners' experience.
This fireside chat will explore the issues of why it is so difficult to drive systemic change in education, what positive trends have occurred, and what underlying conditions need to exist for impact investors to actively participate in driving this change.
