Description

In a world where impact-driven solutions must move from the margins to the mainstream, the power of communication and storytelling has never been more crucial. Yet, too often, discussions around social change focus on problems rather than solutions, leaving organizations struggling to translate their work into narratives that inspire action – which many of them do not have the resources to do. This interactive session challenges that paradigm, equipping participants with the tools to transform storytelling into a vehicle for collective impact and systemic change.

Led by communications experts and social entrepreneurs – including voices from organizations like Rutopia, the founder being one of the Miller Center’s social entrepreneurs – this session will explore how strategic storytelling can bridge divides, foster collaboration, and drive action toward shared prosperity. Through an engaging discussion, live exercises, and facilitated networking, attendees will gain firsthand experience in crafting narratives that resonate across topics, mobilize resources, and create lasting change.

Key themes we will explore include:

Turning Stories into Action – Moving beyond traditional narratives to create communication strategies that drive funding, policy shifts, and grassroots mobilization.
Collaboration through Storytelling – Exploring how shared narratives can unite stakeholders, build trust, and scale impact-driven solutions.
The Role of Digital Media – Leveraging online platforms to make social impact stories mainstream and accessible to wider audiences.
Facilitated Connections – Using storytelling as a foundation for meaningful partnerships, connecting participants in an intentional networking experience.

Rather than a passive panel, this session invites all participants to become active contributors, co-creating solutions and learning from each other. Whether you are an impact entrepreneur, nonprofit leader, impact investor, funder, or communicator, you’ll leave with practical insights and new connections that will help amplify your work and drive meaningful, long-term impact.
