screen-shot-2010-08-13-at-44229-pmThe Channel 4 BRITDOC Foundation and Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program are delighted be bringing the innovative Good Pitch to SOCAP10.

The Good Pitch at SOCAP10 is a one-day live event bringing together documentary films and organizations with social change and innovation at their heart. An invited group of foundations, NGOs, social entrepreneurs, brands, advertising and digital agencies and media organizations will hear pitches from eight filmmaking teams who want to forge strategic alliances with other sectors to amplify their outreach goals.

With SOCAP10 and Good Pitch acting as both leaders and connectors in the thinking around impact and investment, establishing a formal relationship between the two initiatives capitalizes on the major strengths of both events.

The 8 films being pitched on 3 October span subjects from living with HIV through sustainable energy to empowering young people through poetry, dance and theatre. Three Good Pitch alumni will also return to SOCAP10 , presented as case studies outlining what they have achieved since their first Good Pitch, and pitching new project goals.

The selected filmmakers for this edition of the Good Pitch are:

Francine Strickwerda (Oil and Water), Sean Fine & Andrea Nix Fine (Inocente), Jehane Noujaim (Barefoot Revolution), Nicole Newnham & Maren Grainger-Monsen (The Revolutionary Optimists), Roland Legiardi-Laura (To Be Heard), Joe Wilson & Dean Hamer (Out in the Silence), Michael Brown (25 to Life) and Megan Gelstein (Green Shall Overcome).
