Impact Investing Track Highlight: Bamboo Finance Returns to Celebrate Its Third Birthday At SOCAP10!

Through its partner the Oasis Fund (a private equity firm) Bamboo Finance invests equity and debt in commercially viable social enterprises that are directly impacting low-income markets in the developing world. Bamboo Finance’s clients are focused on providing affordable products and services that directly impact the quality of life for low-income communities. It works across sectors providing support to businesses in education, affordable housing, energy, water, sanitation and other livelihood opportunities. Bamboo Finance also serves on the boards of their client organizations and provide strategic guidance. The CEO and founder of Bamboo Finance Jean-Phillipe de Schrevel also founded BlueOrchard Finance, an organization that invests equity and debt in microfinance through a variety of profitable products. Bamboo Finance is working with BlueOrchard Finance to bridge the gap between their clients (social entrepreneurs), micro-finance institutions and social capital investments. Bamboo Finance is an emerging player in the social capital market space and we are very happy that it is returning to SOCAP this year, as part of our Impact Investing track. We are very excited that it has begun operations in the United States, will be celebrating their third birthday and are announcing a new commitment at SOCAP10.
