Second European Tour

Amy Benziger March 28, 2011

The SOCAP team arrived in Amsterdam last week for a second round of research, events, and planning meetings.  Amsterdam has started to feel like a home away from home, our familiarity with the city mirroring our growing understanding of the wide breadth of topics and tactics within Europe’s social capital landscape. The team has been traveling across the continent to host a “Practitioners’ Lunch” in Brussels, to attend the Partnership for Change Conference in Oslo, Norway hosted by the U.S ambassador Barry White, to meet with UNESCO in Paris, and we are ending in Oxford next week for Skoll and Oxford Jam.
SOCAP has created a scholarship for two lucky participants to attend both Oxford Jam and SOCAP/Europe. We’re looking forward to meeting the winners next week. Stay tuned for profiles on the SOCAP blog. If you are coming to Skoll or Oxford Jam, we hope to see you on the night of Wednesday, March 30th for the “Friends and Fine Thinkers” Dinner, which we are co-hosting with Audrey Selian of The Artha Platform.
There have been many exciting events and developments as the days draw closer to SOCAP/Europe. We will once again have over 150 speakers join us from around the world, weaving in panels, debates and open space sessions. Check on the SOCAP/Europe site for a first round schedule to be released next week.
