The case study, Good Capital: Emergence of the Social Capital Market, written by Guatam Kaul and Lauren Foukes of the University of Michigan, won fourth place in the NextBillion 2011 Case Writing Competition. The study examines the social investment firm Good Capital and its cofounder Kevin Jones who is considering expansion of the investment firm. The case study outlines the options for the firm’s expansion which include: raising a second fund, expanding the SOCAP conference to help develop the impact investing industry, increasing the reach of The Hub, a work place for social entrepreneurs and even taking an international presence.
