Introducing Sarah Brooks, SOCAP11 Design for Social Innovation Track Leader

SOCAP June 23, 2011

My name is Sarah Brooks, and I’m the Director of Social Innovation at Hot Studio and founder of Networked Culture, a design strategy consultancy. At Hot Studio, we are a team of designers and engineers who work with social entrepreneurs, business leaders, innovative organizations and emerging companies to help amplify their impact.
I’m motivated by a deep interest in the conscious evolution of human psychology and systems, and a passion for designing the change I want to see in the world. Since 2000 my work has focused on designing products and services that support emergent community. This has included peer-to-peer open collaboration, the creation of value networks, and the use of rich media to spark debate and share ideas.
I’ve been a founding team member of numerous startups, successfully launched dozens of products and services into the market. I’ve worked with organizations such as The Contemporary Jewish Museum, CNET, FORA.tv, Hoop Fund, Nokia Ideas Project, NetSquared, Pop!Tech, Skoll Foundation, SOCAP and Zinio, among others.
I’m excited to curate the Design for Social Innovation track at SOCAP 11. There is an amazing group of designers coming together to share their expertise and excitement for your work. I hope to see you there.
