Are you launching a social venture that engages people to solve a social or environmental problem?  The Points of Light Civic Accelerator invests in the most promising entrepreneurs from across the country launching “civic ventures” or enterprises that achieve a social or environmental mission by engaging people.  We believe that by investing in entrepreneurs who put people at the center of change — such as Neighbor.ly and the Jubilee Project, — we can help drive scalable social impact.  Our program is designed as a 12-week boot camp that includes an educational curriculum, mentoring, peer learning and a chance to receive a $50,000 seed investment (where the entrepreneurs themselves decide which 2 ventures should receive the investment).  We are looking for exceptional U.S.-based teams who are launching early stage for-profit or nonprofit ventures.  Interested entrepreneurs can apply by going to our website and hitting the “Apply Now” button.  Applications will accepted through September 6, and the program kicks off October 21.
