SOCAP18 will kick off at Fort Mason in San Francisco in less than six weeks! There are a few steps to take right now that will help you have the best experience possible at the conference.
1. Plan to hit the ground running! Sessions Start at 1pm on Tuesday 10/23.
For those of you who have been to SOCAP before, be aware that this year’s schedule is going to be slightly different. When booking your travel arrangements and plans, please note that registration will open at 11am on Tuesday, October 23rd and sessions will begin promptly at 1pm. The entire afternoon will be packed with important conversations, culminating in an opening plenary at 4:30 pm that is not to be missed, followed by a welcome reception.
Note: SOCAP will not be serving lunch on Tuesday, but there are many options nearby the campus of the Fort Mason Center.

There is another very large conference taking place in San Francisco the same week as SOCAP18 and the number of housing options in the area is extremely limited and dwindling.
3. Update your profile and begin meeting the SOCAP18 community on Pathable.
If you have already registered for the conference, then you should have received an email inviting you to join the SOCAP18 community on Pathable. If you haven’t already, personalize your Pathable profile with your photo, bio, important links (your website, Twitter handle…etc.) and tags that identify your areas of focus.
Take these steps now to connect with others in the SOCAP community before the conference even begins. Begin networking now by researching other attendees, starting (public or private) discussions, and requesting meetings directly through the secure platform.
Please note: the schedule is not yet available on Pathable as we are finalizing all of the sessions. As soon as the schedule is confirmed, we will add it to the Pathable platform so that you can begin reading about sessions and making your own personal schedule.
4. Plan on joining the Food Truck Party the night of Thursday 10/25.
The Food Truck party is one of SOCAP’s most beloved annual traditions – don’t miss out at SOCAP18! This year the big party begins 6pm on Thursday, October 25th and continues until 10pm. As always, some of San Francisco’s finest food trucks will be serving delicious cuisine from around the world to the sound of a live band. Bring your dancing shoes!
