Yve-Car Momperousse is the founder and CEO of a thriving beauty and hair products company. Her company, Kreyol Essence, sits on the shelves at mainstream retailers like Whole Foods. But the founding story is anything but mainstream. As a Haitian-American, Yve-Car grew up using her mother’s supply of Haitian Black Castor Oil to keep her skin and hair healthy. But as she got older, she realized that there was no way to get the oil in the United States. And thus the idea for a new company was born.
She now leads a thriving enterprise that empowers women all over Haiti. In this episode of World-Changing Women, we’ll hear Yves-Car’s incredible founding story as well as the secrets behind how she grew Kreyol Essence into a mainstream player rooted in deep values.
