How to Get to SOCAP18: Directions, Travel Tips, and Transportation Planning Advice

SOCAP October 16, 2018

SOCAP18 will be held at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. This post will help you review your transportation options and make a plan for getting yourself to and from Fort Mason during the conference.

Venue Location

The address for Fort Mason is 2 Marina Boulevard, San Francisco, CA 94123. The main entrance is located off Marina Blvd at Buchanan Street.

Parking at Fort Mason

A limited number of parking spaces are available at Fort Mason at a cost of $15 per day (for 4+ hours of parking). Information about visiting and parking at Fort Mason, including directions to the venue from around San Francisco, can be found here.

Public Transportation

There are many alternatives to driving to Fort Mason and we strongly encourage all SOCAP attendees to consider them. There is another large event taking place during SOCAP18 and traffic may be more congested during the conference than it has been in previous years.

Download a MuniMobile® app for iPhone or Android to purchase mobile tickets for all MUNI public transportation options, including bus, rail, and cable car. Or purchase a Clipper® Card, that allows you to pay fares in advance for easy access to all BART and Muni options in the Bay Area.

Marin Shuttle

We have arranged a shuttle service at a reasonable rate that will transport SOCAP attendees back and forth between Fort Mason and the three hotels with reserved room blocks in Marin County:

  • The Holiday Inn Express Mill Valley
  • The Best Western Corte Madera Inn
  • The Marin Suites in Corte Madera

Reserve your shuttle pass as soon as possible, as space is limited.

Staying in the East Bay?

Driving time on the Bay Bridge is highly unpredictable because of traffic congestion. If you’re staying in the East Bay we recommend that you take BART–that will be the fastest way to get to Fort Mason. Exit at Embarcadero. From there you can either hire a taxi, Lyft, or Uber to take you to Fort Mason or take a streetcar up Embarcadero to the end of the line and walk the rest of the way.
