FAQs

Who is eligible to enter?

  • Anyone can submit a nomination, including PR representatives. You may also nominate yourself.
  • We are especially looking for people who have not previously been featured by Conscious Company.
  • See below for more detailed criteria about each category.

Is there a cost to enter?

Nope, this is a purely editorial project, and entering is free.

What do you mean by “world-changing women”?

We mean female, women-identifying, and non-binary femme business leaders who demonstrate a higher set of values (beyond a narrow focus on shareholder returns) through their words, the way they operate in the workplace, and their actions in the world. These leaders live their lives through an established value system and make choices with clear intention.

This commitment is reflected in:

  • their leadership style.
  • the way they build their workplace.
  • their effectiveness in using the business and their leadership role to strengthen their communities and protect our environment.

What are the list categories?

We’re accepting nominations for five categories this year. These are the same as we used in 2019, so check out that story for examples.

Social Entrepreneurs

These women are changing the world through the new/early-stage businesses they’ve launched.

Intrapreneurs

These women are changing the world through the change they’re driving or creating within (usually large) existing organizations they’re a part of. They may be part of the leadership team, but they’re usually not in the C-suite.

Corporate Leaders

These women are making the world a better place by changing the leadership paradigm from inside the C-suite of mid-cap and large organizations.

Impact Investors

These women are changing the world through thoughtful, strategic, and innovative deployment of capital.

Thought Leaders

These women are changing the world through the ideas and knowledge they’re spreading that inspires and empowers others to both create and imagine a better world.

Can I nominate the same person in more than one category?

Yes, you can nominate the same person for more than one category, but we highly recommend that you consider which category they truly excel in and focus your efforts there.

Can I nominate multiple people?

Absolutely. We want all your great suggestions. Simply fill out the application form for each nominee.

Can I nominate myself?

Yes, but the application will be stronger if you can find a supporter or ally to nominate you.

Do you accept leaders of nonprofits?

We focus mainly on using business mechanisms to solve social problems. So if the nonprofit has a self-sustaining, earned revenue model, we’re happy to consider its leader. If the organization is mainly grant- or donation-funded, it’s not a great fit.
