How to Make the Most of Networking at SOCAP22

SOCAP Global October 7, 2022

Make Lasting Connections for Lasting Impact

So much has changed since we last gathered in person — including the urgency with which we must act and the need for radical collaboration. We need each other to resist and repair global injustices, address the climate crisis, and build better systems for all.

That’s why we’ve put an extra emphasis on connecting and networking at SOCAP22. We will lift up ways of thinking that inspire sustained action and offer approaches to working together as we’ve never worked together before.

The networking opportunities at this year’s event invite attendees to connect with others from across the country and around the globe to share ideas, drive meaningful progress, and put the power of markets to work for positive impact. Explore these opportunities below and learn how you can start making connections right now. Let the SOCAP networking begin!

Start Networking Before You Get to SOCAP

With the SOCAP event app, you can start making connections before SOCAP starts! Once you’ve registered for SOCAP22, download the free EventMobi app from your favorite app store (or use the browser version). Enter the code “SOCAP22” and the email address that you used to register for the event. Within the app, you can plan your agenda and connect virtually with other SOCAP22 attendees ahead of the event. Create your profile with a photo and short bio to help your fellow attendees put a face to your name. Start making connections, set up meetings, and plan your SOCAP22 schedule!

Explore Just the Networking Events in the Agenda

Filter the SOCAP22 agenda by “Networking” to view a variety of opportunities throughout the conference to make connections. Whether you’d rather have a conversation led and facilitated by a host or mingle with a crowd, we’re providing both open networking events and coordinated setups to make sure attendees have multiple ways to network.

Come Together Over Common Interests and Coffee!

We’re kicking off Monday morning with a facilitated community-building session by author and humorist Eliot Nelson who will help us consider: What is democracy? And why is it an important topic at SOCAP? “Saving Democracy” is a civics and coffee meet and greet where you can meet other SOCAP attendees concerned about our democracy. Come ready to strengthen and widen your community, centering on civic participation.

Immersive Connections at Lunch

Don’t miss the opportunity to connect over lunch! Join an immersive facilitation by Inside Circle on Monday which will guide you through a special experience to concentrate your attention on your purpose and build connections with fellow attendees.

Make the Most of Evening Receptions

Toast the return of SOCAP in person at evening gatherings! You’ll have the chance to meet fellow attendees, our team of cohorts, speakers, and more.

SOCAP Social: Meet the SOCAP team, session speakers, and members of the SOCAP Entrepreneur Cohort and the Indigenous Access Fund Cohort at this cocktail hour in the magical Yerba Buena Gardens Monday evening. All are welcome!

Partner Wine Up Reception!: Connect with fellow attendees at the Wine Up, hosted by our SOCAP22 partners, at City View from 5 to 6 p.m. on Monday! You’ll never guess how this venue got its name (yes, the views are spectacular!).

YBCA Welcome Reception: Join us at YBCA for a welcome reception and gallery viewing — tour the gallery, connect with the artists, and meet fellow attendees! RSVP by October 14.

SOCAP Garden Party: Come together at our biggest party of the week on Wednesday, October 19, from 4:30-7 p.m. Take advantage of the beautiful YBCA Gardens before the final day of content to network with participants and celebrate community while enjoying outrageously delicious fare from SF-based food trucks.
