Impact Investing’s Biggest Event Brings Together a Diverse Roster of Impact Leaders in San Francisco in First In-Person Event in Three Years
San Francisco, October 5, 2022 — Returning in person for the first time since 2019, the annual SOCAP conference will take place from October 17 through 20 in San Francisco. SOCAP22 will convene impact-oriented partners, cutting-edge solution-minded changemakers, and movement leaders working together to build better systems for all.
With 275 speakers and more than 70 sessions spanning four days, attendees at the 15th SOCAP conference can expect to engage in meaningful conversations with leaders in the impact movement and explore themes including Justice, Reimagine Systems, Deliver Equity and Inclusion, Power and Capital, Accelerate Climate Action, Accountability, and Advance Democracy.
SOCAP22 is made possible with the support of the following partners:

SOCAP22 will be hosted at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA). This new location places the event at the heart of San Francisco’s vibrant art district and increases accessibility for all attendees.
“Our partners have always been essential to the success of SOCAP, but none more so than this year,” said Robert Munson, SOCAP Global President, and Sorenson Impact Center Managing Director. “This is truly a community effort led by a group of like-minded organizations whose support for our shared global vision for impact has made all of this possible. We can’t thank them enough.”
Since its inception in 2008, SOCAP has brought together over 100,000 social entrepreneurs, investors, foundations and nonprofit leaders, government and policy leaders, creators, corporations, and academics to accelerate progress against the world’s toughest challenges through market-based solutions.
The conference is hosted in partnership with the Sorenson Impact Center, based at the University of Utah’s Eccles School of Business. Sorenson announced in June that the group would be assuming a leadership role in SOCAP’s day-to-day operations to help the largest and most diverse impact investing community meet the challenges of a new era in impact investing.
“We are incredibly excited for SOCAP22, our first in-person convening in three years, and the timing could not be better,” said Tova Lobatz, SOCAP Director of Strategic Partnerships. “From climate change and social justice to economic inequity, our global challenges have continued to multiply and deepen, especially over the past three years. The need for capital at scale to drive new solutions has never been greater, and as the biggest tent in impact investing, SOCAP is a place where real change can happen. We could not be more grateful to partner with leaders making measured progress and setting the tone for the future of the impact economy.”
