Incorporating lessons from its initial launch at SOCAP24, the collaborators behind the Inclusive Capital Exchange (ICX) are seeking participants for this year’s LG/GP curated matchmaking event. The goal? Move as much capital as possible to emerging fund managers.
The ICX is a consortium of dedicated changemakers in the impact investing space with representatives from New Majority Capital, Common Future, Roanhorse Consulting, and Armillaria. They are fueled by a desire to exchange both ideas and capital.
“At SOCAP24, we piloted a shockingly simple idea: creating a curated experience for LPs and GPs to drive more capital into emerging fund managers,” said Dr. Astrid Scholz, founding member of the ICX. “Mainstream PE events do this all the time, but it’s all too rare at impact investing events like SOCAP.”
The success of the launch has prompted round two of the ICX at SOCAP25, taking place from October 27 to 29 in San Francisco. Like last year, the ICX’s goal at SOCAP25 is to:
- Move from talk to action, and facilitate the movement of money
- Create the conditions for impact organizations raising investment to leave with checks, commitments, and deep relationships
- Prototype a digital platform that facilitates discovery, diligence, and deployment of purpose-aligned funding across the capital spectrum
This is a continuing experiment in creating more effective ways to harness conferences like SOCAP to help capital flow in the impact space. Participants are encouraged to approach the experience with curiosity and in the spirit of building something together that will become a permanent feature of SOCAP and similar impact events.
How to Participate in the Inclusive Capital Exchange at SOCAP25
Interested LPs and GPs can sign up and create a short online profile on the Innovation Exchange through September 30, 2025. The team will review the information on a rolling basis and make matches and introductions. All in-person meetings will be confirmed by October 10.
These matches form the basis for exploratory and diligence conversations before SOCAP25, and a dedicated session on Monday, October 27, during the event. The ICX will follow up with both sides to discover what relationships and deals are emerging. Your participation also qualifies you for other opportunities facilitated by the Innovation Exchange, including future ICX events planned in 2026.
Who can participate in the Inclusive Capital Exchange at SOCAP25?
Any emerging fund manager currently raising a fund I, II, or III, and any LP, foundation investment officer, or asset manager who is currently allocating may participate. Other interested parties are invited to submit their information to stay informed about future ICX events.
Do you have to be a registered SOCAP25 attendee in order to apply?
Yes, since this event is held in conjunction with and in partnership with SOCAP, you must be a SOCAP25 ticket holder in order to apply for the ICX. SOCAP25 takes place from October 27 to 29 in downtown San Francisco. Register for SOCAP25 here.
What happens after SOCAP25?
The ICX team will follow up with participants to learn what deals were made and report on the experience. The team will use the lessons from this year’s edition to inform the design of future ICX experiences at SOCAP and other impact-related conferences and gatherings.
