The Gender Lens on Energy Investment: Women for Women Initiatives

A disproportionate burden generated by the lack of clean energy falls on poor women and girls in the developing world. Women are exposed on a daily basis to health issues generated by sooty traditional stoves and dirty lighting solutions and they walk miles and miles to fetch wood for fuel. There is a growing number of companies and investors – led by women – that are focused on developing solutions that view the issues of improving access to clean energy for poor women around the world through a gender lens. This session will feature some of the pioneering implementers who are leading this conversation.
