10:00 AM - 11:00 AM PDT
The Internet, digital platforms, mobile phones, and digital financial services offer “leapfrog” opportunities for all. Removing the barriers that cause digital inequities gives women and other marginalized communities the possibility to earn (additional) income, increase employment opportunities, and access knowledge. In this session, the UN Capital Development Fund and Best Buy will describe the advances to overcome these inequities, the challenges that lie ahead, and how the private and public sectors can collaborate on new and emergent strategies to radically narrow the barriers that still exist for women and marginalized communities.
