In our collective aspiration for systems change, we grapple with many false dichotomies that guide where we spend our money and time. Should we go top-down, or bottom up? Emphasize global frameworks or push for local adaptations? However, these seemingly opposite approaches and beliefs are in fact often interconnected and complementary. In this interactive session, we’ll explore what it looks like to recognize and overcome these false dichotomies so we create more nuanced and holistic approaches to systems change.
Creative Tensions is not a panel; it’s a conversation that moves. Participants reveal where they stand on an issue by where they stand in the room. It is a lively experience that demonstrates three fundamental concepts of human-centered design - empathy, curiosity, and optimism. Guided by facilitators from IDEO.org, you are invited to get out of your seat to explore the many vantage points of achieving systems change.
