World Education Services (WES), a global social enterprise, began its mission-aligned investing journey in 2020 with responsible investing, sustainable investing, and a four percent carveout for catalytic, impact-first investing. Over three years, the team and Board moved along a rigorous and thoughtful process to reimagine what stewardship and fiduciary duty mean for a mission-driven organization, demonstrate new investment strategies, and explore approaches to align more of its resources with impact. At the end of 2023, this work culminated in the approval of a new investment mandate, aligning 100% of WES’ assets with its mission and values.
In this session, leaders from WES and its Board will discuss their journey to 100% mission-aligned investing, highlighting key milestones and lessons learned, as well as how this work relates to WES’ total enterprise approach to drive impact and systems change.
This session is brought to you in partnership with World Education Services (WES).
