This session explores the multifaceted challenges of achieving racial equity in health and economic opportunities. Our panelists will delve into both proactive and defensive strategies, examining how we can build equitable systems while simultaneously defending against policy and legal attacks on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
Speaking about proactive strategies for building equity, U.S. News will explore findings from its Healthiest Communities data journalism project and demonstrate how your ZIP code matters more than your genetic code when it comes to career, economic equity, education and health care access and how the attacks on equity ultimately threaten the well-being and economic freedom of marginalized groups.
Speaking about defensive strategies, Alphonso David, the defense lawyer in the Fearless Fund case, will discuss the legal challenges facing those who advocate and work for racial equity, the implications of recent legal decisions for impact investors and philanthropists alike.
This session will weave together the important work of those building new pathways to equity and those defending the pathways to equity from falling back.
This session is brought to you in partnership with U.S. News.
