Most funders investing in nonprofit AI adoption are focusing on the wrong variable. Tools are widely available; pilots are easy to launch; yet impact isn’t happening at scale. The blocker is almost never technology–it’s whether organizations are governed for the pace of change AI requires. This session introduces a diagnostic framework–AI-sprinkled vs. AI-native–drawn from Board.Dev and Tech to the Rescue’s research and implementation work with 300+ organizations. Participants apply the framework to real cases and leave with a new lens for evaluating whether capital investments in AI will compound or evaporate.
