Description
Purpose Statement
This fun, insightful, and engaging collaborative art experience at SOCAP25 will bring together up to 25 participants in a single session to create a dynamic statement piece reflecting three key themes: Health & Well-Being, Community Identity, and The Role of Arts & Culture. Each participant will choose one of these three groups to work with, contributing to a collective work of art that embodies shared values, ideas, and intentions for the conference moving forward.
Health & Well-Being
Participants in this group will explore how creative expression supports personal and collective well-being. Through hands-on collaboration, they will reflect on the role of art in healing, self-care, and emotional resilience, using their work to represent the transformative power of creativity in fostering balance and mental clarity.
Community Identity
This group will focus on the ways art strengthens and reflects community identity. Participants will work together to visually express themes of belonging, representation, and shared experiences. This process will encourage dialogue, deepen connections, and celebrate the diversity and unity within the SOCAP25 community.
The Role of Arts & Culture
Participants in this group will examine how arts and culture shape societies, influence change, and serve as a bridge between diverse perspectives. Through hands-on creation, they will explore the transformative power of artistic expression in storytelling, advocacy, and cultural preservation, reinforcing the importance of creativity in social impact.
With all materials provided, attendees will engage in problem-solving, adaptability, and shared leadership—learning to step up when needed and to trust others to take the wheel when necessary. This experience is about more than just making art; it’s about building trust, embracing shared creativity, and strengthening community connections in a safe space. Assistance will be available to ensure accessibility and inclusivity, making this an inspiring and enriching experience for all involved.
These collaborative art installations will be on display throughout the entirety of SOCAP25 and, if the event chooses, can even be auctioned off to support future initiatives.
