Description
Philanthropy plays an essential yet underrepresented role in blended finance. While Convergence’s data shows that two-thirds of investments from philanthropic foundations have been on highly concessional terms, they make up less than 1% of all recorded investment capital in the blended finance marketWith the global reduction in foreign aid, there’s an opportunity and an imperative for foundations to play a larger role. This session will bring together diverse catalytic capital providers to explore how they can work together more efficiently to scale blended finance, with a focus on the growing role of philanthropic foundations.
Panellists will discuss how to best collaborate on funding joint catalytic capital facilities, sharing pipeline opportunities and market mapping results, ensuring that investments maximize each parties’ respective risk tolerance, and much more.
