Anushalatha Bharadwaj VOICE 4 Girls

This session will go beyond intellectual discourse and debate. The panel will discuss the entrenched system of gender work especially in the context of the global south – what works, what needs strengthening and what is missing?
1. Highlight ways in which girls and women are exercising agency/being leaders in their local contexts (interrupt narrative of “vulnerable girls” or need to “give” them agency, etc.)
2. Identify structural and systemic barriers that are constraining girls’ and women’s agency/leadership/etc. – with a particular focus on global?
3. Discuss ways to understand impact and scale that center girls’ and women’s leadership/agency
4. Successful piloting of a collaborative project resulting in the establishment of a South Asia hub for gender champions. This hub will facilitate cross-border collaboration, knowledge exchange, and collective efforts to advance gender justice in the region. This can become the potential model to scale in the South Asia region.
