Co-Designing a Global Community of Practice to Bridge the Digital Equity Gap in Education

Julie Clugage Team4Tech

By 2030, 90% of jobs worldwide will have a digital component (reference: https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2020/01/future-of-work/) but forecasts show that nearly 1 billion youth will not have the digital skills to participate in the global workforce. (reference: https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2020/01/reskilling-revolution-jobs-future-skills/)
Technology access alone is not enough to shift this reality. Enduring change in education takes humility, collaboration, and community.

Team4Tech is a global impact accelerator supporting education-focused NGOs in leveraging digital technologies to ensure inclusive and equitable education. Using a co-design framework with community-based NGOs operating in low-resourced areas, Team4Tech’s approach promotes career-connected education through effective technology use, improved learning experiences, and increased organizational capacity. We utilize our hyper-local regional hubs (Sub-Saharan Africa, South/Southeast Asia, Latin America & the Caribbean, and the USA & Canada), pro bono consultants from corporate partners, and our growing online community (currently supporting 730+ community-based education nonprofits across 90+ countries that report a direct impact on 39M+ learners globally) to network, co-design and build capacity for sustainable global action.
